A sweet, dense chocolate ball infused with a dark spiced rum
These chocolatey balls are a great Valentine's Day savior.
Valentine's Smalentine's (yes I made that word up).
Now don't get me wrong, I love love. The idea of love but I'm not too sure if I love the idea of commercializing it for one day. But I guess this happens with most holidays now. Let's ignore what it's really about and try to make the most money from the idea.
If you know the story about "Day of Love" you would remember in the early stages it was more about handwritten notes and tokens to show appreciation. The extra effort really highlighted that time was taken to make you, "my love", something special because you are worth it to me.
Well, these rum balls are taking us back to the olden days. Made from scratch, with love, for your love and can be made on Sunday morning too if you want to.
These yummy goodnesses do not require baking of any sort. All you need are your ingredients, a processor or blender, a little patience and some loving hands.
These balls do need a little time to sit so that it holds together better. It also allows for the rum and the chocolate to fuse together better. So if you are going to make these on Sunday remember that you need to leave them for at least two hours or even overnight.
I wish you luck waiting on them to set. I can assure you that you will be pinching a piece here and pinching a piece there. Or that could just be me.
Did I mention these are NOT kid proof? Using a dark spiced rum kicks this over the ledge but are perfect for the adults.
Peeerrrfect!!
So here's to finding the best last minute Vday snack. that you can just go ahead and eat every other day too
Have a Happy Valentine's Day!! I love and appreciate you for stopping by.
But wait before you go, do you "celebrate" Valentine's Day?
