Easy Stove Top Jerk Shrimp

15.1.17 | Recipe by Renz

A quick and easy weeknight meal that can also be used to top salads or incorporated into other dishes. Perfect to add that little kick to your dishes.

Finally, I am here.

Can you imagine that we are almost halfway through the first month of the New Year already?

I know I am a bit late kicking off 2017 but I was hit with that nasty flu that had me down and out for 3 weeks. 3 WEEKS!!!

But I am glad to be back and starting it off with this oh so easy recipe that packs a punch.

This easy stove top jerk shrimp is spicy, tasty and quick. It can be used as a main dish, can be added to other dishes or easily used as a topper on a salad.

How has 2017 been treating you so far?

Having a cold really annoyed me. And this was a bad one. I was dragging myself for 2 weeks. Breathing was difficult.

I felt like I had gotten beaten up and left on the side of the road (dramatic much?) Surely not how I wanted to ring end 2016 and ring in the new year.

I still cannot complain too much. My parents were in town from Tobago and it has been a while since we have all spent a Christmas together, I was just unable to cook up as much as I wanted, but we still had a very memorable holiday season.

This shrimp is succulent and spicy, but not too spicy. In fact, you are free to use a mild jerk seasoning versus a hot one if you are not too much of a spicy food person. I used hot in this recipe but it worked great with the size of the shrimp.

I love that this is a versatile dish in that I can use it in so many ways.

It can easily be paired with some rice and peas or used in my rasta pasta to make a dinner option.

I would be lying too if I didn't confess that I popped a few into my mouth, just as a snack.

And it sure did clear up my sinuses. Haha.

So get your shrimp on with no grill required.

And heres to a great 2017 packed with food and good vibrations.
